Out in the woods

I was rather busy lately, so I haven't published anything for a long time, I'm going to make that up for you. First of all, there's a report from our holiday. We were supposed to go to South Moravia, sleep in a guesthouse, drink wine all the time and relax. Then we had a talk and decided, we would invest our money into a new mattrace, save some for the wedding we plan to have next year and borrow a cabin in the woods from our friends instead. It was about 25 kilometres from our town, so we went on bikes, carrying only clothes, toothbrush, towel and something to eat and drink that evening (there was a convenience store in the village nearby).
We left at 2 p.m. and arrived two hours later. We were recommended a lake nearby that was suitable for swimming. Well, not anymore, as it was half full and really dirty. We got to the cabin, set everything ready for sleeping and made a fire.We cooked some sausages, drank a lot of wine, played cards... Well, that is how we spent all the evenings there. The weather wasn't good all the time, so sometimes we just used the fire to make dinner and then we sat on the porch that kept us safe from the rain and we talked a lot.

Some nights we just watched the stars as there were so many to see, there in the woods, where there was no light pollution. Also no wi-fi and no signal, so for five days we were completely free from modern world. The groceries in the village can't count, as their supplies looked like from the communist era, half-empty shelves, moldy vegetables, wine that said "red wine" and "white wine" ( well, unfortunately not literally, but the choice was that disastrous). After two days of rain we were so relaxed. We actually slept all day, woke up in the evening, when the rain almost stopped, only to get food, play cards and go back to sleep three hours later, what a perfect day!

Third day the weather got better, so we decided to go to a nearby town Pacov for a short bike trip (only 6 kilometres or so) in case it started raining again. We had a look around the square, the church and a park and we shared a pizza. Also we bought some more proper wine in a supermarket, as we finished our supplies the first day, second day we drunk a bottle of white rum and then we had no alcohol (it's not that we needed that, but we enjoyed it as we didn't have to get up). Also we got some more food.

Fourth day we decided for a little bit longer trip (about 10 km) to a nearby castle Kámen (The Rock). We took a guided tour around, heard a little about it's history and saw the exhibition of old motorcycles. Also we took a walk in the park. Some were really weird. On our way back we decided to take a different way, on the map it looked like it leads through the forest. Well, it did, in the end. But first we gor to a field. After the heavy rains it was really wet. My bike got stuck in the middle and as I was trying to get off before I fall... well,  I fell anyway, right into the mud. Now that looked... disgusting.  I was laughing about it for the rest of the day. But, we did get safely back to the cabin and the road back was shorter.

On friday we cleaned everything and rode back to our new, finally cleaned apartment. Also, our new mattrace arrived that day, so, after a month of sleeping on a couch we finally slept perfectly. It was necessary as we were leaving for Prague the next morning.
