OUTFIT: Riverside

This week I almost didn't see my boyfriend (and I live with him!), so I had to be my own photographer. And this time it turned out well. But I think I will let him do it next time, as it was quite riddiculous. My compact camera has a selfie function, meaning that you press the shutter button and it just doesn't take the picture until it recognizes a face. It's pretty good but sometimes you have to dance in front of the camera in order to be recognized, which must be rather funny to watch.

OUTFIT: Schoolbag

Lately I've been doing some research in the attic of my parent's house in order to find some long forgotten things to wear or refashion and wear and I came across this satchel bag. It is slightly larger than those you usually find in shops these days (I believe even a 15" notebook would fit neatly), but it is nice and almost flawless leather and pretty cool! I'm working on a post about all the cool stuff I've found in the attic and old wardrobe of my relatives.
And BTW, these pants are out of the closet for the first time in almost two years, I could always fit in somehow, but the thing it did to my belly was awful. Now, as I'm exercising and having regular and quite healthy meals, I can fit much better (not ideal though, but at least it is not visible under this t-shirt).

OUTFIT: Where's Waldo

Recently I've found out I do not own enough striped shirts (which is a shame as we all know it is everlasting trend!) so I was kind of searching for some nice ones. Soon I purchased three, all in thrift stores. First one is noted in my shoping update, nice and soft. The other newcomer is a bit thinner, but comfy, long enough and fits well. The third one was something I just had to have, even though it was huge and I had to narrow it down a lot. But now I am the Waldo!

OUTFIT: Ponchoscarf

So one of the fashion bloggers I follow claimed, that a poncho /scarf thingy will be a hit of the season (and she even provides a sewing tutorial for such a thing). Well, Czech streets do not seem to notice such a thing, however, when I came across this scarf-ish thing in a second-hand store, I just had to have it. Not that I couldn't sew it in the first place, but I was lazy, didn't find the right fabric for it and I do not live in the warm parts of USA, where, according to the pictures, the temperatures are rarely below zero, which is not the case of Czech Rep. We sometimes have snow, you know! But I still did wear the scarf as a top layer (even though it meant having four layers underneath). Yet I like the result. This scarf doesn't have such a nice pattern, but I believe it can be comibned easier. I'll try and let you know...:)

OUTFIT: Scottish Highlands

Some time ago I bought a kilt in a second-hand store. And I mean a real kilt, not a plaid skirt or those wannabe kilts from metal stores, real kilt, 100% wool, made in Scottish Highlands. It is something that you don't find everyday, so I had to have it. There were two tiny problems with it. First, woolen things bite! Well, they make you really itchy, but this can be easily solved by putting on some thicker tights (no thin nylons!) and accepting the fact, that you cannot wear the skirt in summer (which I probably wouldn't anyway, as it is wool and I would get all sweaty). Then it was the lenght. The kilt actually ended somewhere above my ankles. I believe that not many people should wear midi skirt, I mean, you can look great as a fifty-year-old lady, when you shouldn't wear anything that ends above your knees, but to pull it off as a young girl, you have to have super long and thin legs. With my 167 cm and cyclistic calves it was something impossible. So I cut it and hemmed (which took whole afternoon and evening without a sewing machine!) and voila! It's a skirt above my knees! And I totally pull it off!
