OUTFIT: Four colours

Today's outfit is sort of an experiment. I usually keep the outfit in two colours, plus another one for jewellery. It is the easiest way to have a neat outfit. Using more colours makes it more complicated, I think. But I gave it a try and I believe It turned out fine. And really love the bag!!

Shopping Update: February 2015

I will always do the shopping update post in the end of the month, as I want to make sure I won't have time to buy anything else. Also I don't want to split my purchases into two post as I want to have it all together so I would know how much stuff I buy.
This month brought many interesting items. One of the most useful is the black cardigan (which I wear every other day), pencil skirt (it's my first one so I keep wearing that too) and golden watch, which were a Valentine's day present and I just can't stop looking at them. The Anna Smith handbag is a brilliant purchase but not as universal as the cardigan so I have to plan my outfit well, but I still love it. Most of the other items are from the end of the month or are waiting for the spring to come.

black cardigan, Amisu; grey t-shirt, Amisu; striped pencil skirt, Amisu; grey scarf, Terranova; watch, Geneva; handbag, Anna Smith; nude heels, O.K. Shop
The first three items were paid for by my mum. I don't know how that happened. I was trying the cardigan on and she suggested that if I can fit in the M size, we will buy the XS instead and she will swap it for the one she has at home (the same cardigan, size M, later found out that XS fits her better). And before I knew it, she paid for the stuff. I mentioned the watch above, the scarf below was found in Terranova sales, I wrote about the Anna Smith handbag some time ago and I got a tip for shoes from my sister so I got these low heels for little money. So far I can't tell how long will they last, someday I might invest a bit more, we'll see about that.
white shirt, blue shhirt, black fedora, striped t-shirt, beige pants and gray pants, all thrifted
This was a really lucky month. They were restocking my favourite second-hand store, so I immediately picked up the white shirt, beige pants (finally!) and black fedora! The rest of the items are from other second-hands, I especially adore the striped shirt, it is a nice thick cotton and I believe it won't wear off any time soon,

OUTFIT: Sunny Afternoon

The lack of sunlight in winter can be quite depressing so I feel so refreshed everytime the sun pops out! At the time of the shooting it was quite chilly, but the sun was shining beautifuly all day long! I do love winter (I am so happy I managed to get on my snowboard at least once this season as I have absolutely no time) but my favourite time of the year is definitely spring and I am really looking forward to it...

OUTFIT: Add a little colour

I just love the cashmere scarf! It is so soft and nice. It could be longer though, but it still looks great and turns a greyish outfit into a more interesting one. I like these types of black n' white or grey n' white outfits, more or less monochromes, but spiced up with some interesting accessories.

How to cook: Couscous with salmon, peas and Parmesan cheese

What I like about couscous is that it is really quick dish. Using the electric kettle to boil water and then just five minutes ant it's done! Yay! All you have to do is prepare the mixture to go with it. This one is one of my favourites (the other one is with leaf spinach and walnuts and Parmesan). Truth is that I mixed a recipe for Italian risotto with a salmon (or a sea trout or what was it) I had in the freezer for some time and I really wanted to do something about it. The couscous served as light lunch after Christmas binging and even my fish-hating boyfriend enjoyed it (ok, I exaggerated a bit, he is not exactly fish-hater, he just doesn't like them much)...

What you need:
200 g of salmon /sea trout fillets (possibly any fish would do)
handful of peas (frozen, canned, fresh, depends on you)
three handfuls of couscous
60 g of Parmesan
1 really tiny onion or half a regular one
two spoons of oil
spoon or two of flour
water, salt, pepper, red pepper, leftover wine (optional)

What you do: As in many of my recipes chop the onion finely and throw it in the pan with preheated oil. You have like fifteen minutes before it turns brownish (you cannot turn the stove on full you know!), so prepare the fillets, use pepper, salt and red pepper (not necessarily red hot pepper) and mix these with flour and wrap the fillets in this mixture. Throw them on the pan and sear them on both sides. Now you should have brownish onions and seared fish, so ad the peas and pour some wine (one decilitre is enough, you can use water instead) and let it bubble. Meanwhile pour water in the kettle and wait till it boils. Use appropriate amount for the couscous in some bowl (it should be written on the package, it should be twice the amount of couscous) and salt, then cover it and let it prepare itself for five mins. As for the fish-peas mix, you should disassemble the fillets (it should go easy now, nice and soft), mix it with the peas and if necessary, add some more spices. When the couscous is nice and ready, add it to the pan (if the pan is not big enough, you can do the exact opposite and pour the mixture in the couscous bowl). Now add the secret ingredient - the Parmesan cheese and voila! Nice and quite healthy dish can be served!

OUTFIT: On the road

This time I didn't manage to take some picture in the morning as I'm used to, also my favourite photographer was still sleeping and I was getting up super early (5.30 a.m. is super early!) and didn't want to wake him up. Truth is that the best ones of my photos are taken by my boyfriend. Not that I don't know how to work with a tripod or a wireless remote, but I taught him well what I expect of the pictures and now it is much faster to let him do the job than doing it myself.
Anyway, these are taken in the train. I could let this one go, but I really loved the simplicity of it. Oh and I managed to get a white shirt I've been looking for (it's not this one, though I wear this a lot), I'll do a shopping update someday soon.

OUTFIT: Golden lining

My favourite colours to pair up with black and grey outfit are - burgundy, white, red, blue and petrol blue. And this is my favourite hat. And the coat. I've had it for ages and the lining is really devastated. Now that I know how to work with my sewing machine (more sewing diary entries coming!), I really have to try to give the coat a new lining (because I love it and I really don't want to hunt for another one, that would fit so nicely).

Have a nice week!

So, after some exam time (more like fun time for me, as I managed passing most of my exams in January and then had some time off) it's school again and this semester is going to be really BIG! As a third year and heading for bachelors degree we only have a month and a half instead of three of regular classes. So we are not allowed to skip any lectures, most classes aretwice as longer as they used to. I also signed up for four P.E. classes. It's Bosu, Zumba, Aerobic and Poweryoga. Had two of them already today (I've been doing yoga for some time and it makes me feel really good and stretched and relaxed) and am pretty excited for Zumba on Thursday. Anyway, for those, whose school has started today (or who had to go to work or anything else more or less annoying happened to you today) there's a cat for you! It is fascinating how cats immediately finds out you've unboxed something and provided them with a new hideout/ place to sleep. No matter that the box is not exactly the right size, they are not picky like me, I have to return the shoes I bought tomorrow, as they are too big when worn without tights, I have to go for the smaller size - but cat's don't care about size.

OUTFIT: Valentine's Day

Ok, you all know what day it is. And you probably have your dates this evening. My plans for tonight seem to be all about pizza and some movies or games, as my fiance is at work. Wel there was an option of going with him and spending time in a screening room while watching a Fifty Shades premiere in our cinema, which I'd rather not. Nevertheless I've picked a very Valentine outfit. What you cannot see in the picture is that I'm wearing a grey tee with a big white heart on it, but it was quite cold in here, so I didn't dare to put off the jumper.

Wishlist: Spring 2015

Right now I am cleaning my closet. Recently I've realized I own like fifteen handbags and only three or four of them are neutral (meaning they can be worn in many different ways). Also I had plenty of printed tees which I no longer wear, and other things that just collect dust. Some of them are currently on sale on vinted.cz, and I made a deal with myself to replace some of these pieces with some I really need. Some of the items on my wishlist are not for spring and I kinda must get them before the winter ends, but that doesn't matter.
1. Grey fedora hat - not that I dont like my grey beret, but I'm into hats now and I¨m missing a grey or black one. I might get both colours but the grey one is a must.

2. Plaid scarf - I can't believe I still don't have one, right? It's been on for some time and literally EVERYONE has it. But, on my defense, I was catching up with what's going on for some time.

3. Striped wrap dress - stripes are everlasting, wrap dress make great silhouette and these dress seem like they will make me look fabulous! Even thoug I would preffer longer sleeves.

4. Beige pants - I've been looking for these for some time and I still haven't found perfect ones. You know, straight legs, perfect fit, nice butt, from a material that would make no wrinkles and would be appropriate to wear as formal attire. It's harder than it might seem.

5. Nude heels - these are also something I've been on the hunt for. The thing is I need a lower heel. I am quite tiny, but I hate spending all day on high shoes. I walk a lot and at the end of the day I can barely move! Also, high heels are not the healthiest thing in the world. I want heels of 7 cm tops. 5 cm would be the best as it's within the "healthy heel" limit, as the specialist say.

6. Black n' white espadrilles - okay, these shoes used to look weird to me, but not anymore. Little bird told me (Franish believes so and I really like her style) they are gonna be a huge thing during the spring/ summer season. Especially these. The original, Chanel's are waaay out of my budget but I believe I could manage to get an imitation. Or buy simple white/beige ones at Topshop / Primark/ somewhere and just paint the toe-cap black using textil paint. Who knows, hey?

OUTFIT: Bluest blouse

I was hunting for a perfect white shirt. It turned out to be impossible. They have either terrible sleeves, are poorly fitted over my belly or breasts, sometimes everything mentioned above. And when they don't, they are transparent and / or from a terrible material. But I did find this blue blouse in a thrift store the other day and I love the way it goes with my navy blue pants. I do love the blue-blue combination together with brown and beige. It is probably my favourite colour combination. But I say that all the time, so don't mind me, please. I did fell in love with the blouse though. I must say I love all the clothes I wear, I have plenty of time now and I enjoy thinking of an outfit to wear the next day. And it is the time of the month (or season or year, whatever) when I like myself, which is good. But I could use some more snow...

OUTFIT: My first pencil skirt

I always thought that pencil skirts make me look huge and... kind of old. That was until I found Franish. I was looking for inspiration in my size (no matter how great most fashion blogs are, they happen to be in sizes XS-M, and some of the outfits just don't work in L-XL). Nevertheless, Franish really kicks those skirts so I decided to get me one too. And I love it. I might still look big or old but I like wearing it so I don't quite care.
