Why hello there! It has been a while, hasn't it? Well, I have been busy planning my wedding and life in general, plus I didn't feel like blogging. I was actually thinking about cancelling the blog, yet I thought about it and decided to abandon it for a while. So here I am and I'm going to provide some information about how was my summer, wedding and stuff.
First of all, I didn't get my degree yet (booo!) but I promise I'm working on it. As for summer vacation, to be honest, there wasn't any. I've been at work plus we were dealing with a problem at my now-husband's job which resolved into him leaving the position and then there was the wedding. I must say I had good days and bad days. I had two fights with my mum, first one was about her not caring at all about her daughter's wedding, the other one came a couple weeks later, was even worse and was all about her interfering too much in the preparations. But we did figure out the best amount of interest in the wedding and since then everything went fine. Actually the closer we were to the big day, the calmer I was. The day before I calmed down my sister, who freaked out about not being able to do my hair and make up properly. I said I trust her and even if it did turn out badly, I am still marrying the man. In the morning, every woman in the house was anxious, as we didn't have enough time, and there were like six ladies and only one bathroom. Well we did it. And I must say it was beautiful! I didn't hear the guitarist's playlist before the ceremony, yet when I entered the church with my dad and heard it, I thought "That's it, that's perfect.". Ales's parents showed up (well, his mum and sister, father stayed home, as he doesn't agree with his son's leaving the Jehova's witnesses), which is a big deal considering the fact that only a week before we thought they wouldn't come.
The ceremony was short and sweet, we were the most beautiful couple, the weather turned out fine, so our photos are marvellous and the evening party? Best ever! The night was quite warm and I managed to keep my dress on till the early morning (I put a white sweater on at midnight and a coat at two in the morning). There was enough food and drinks for everyone but we had almost no leftovers to deal with. Everyone had fun, there were no fights and no scenes, the dj was great (fyi, there was no dj, we spent four hours putting a playlist together which would be great and yeah, it was - actually, do you know the feeling when you're at the party and they just play your favourite song and you're like "Yaaay, I love this song!"? Well, the playlist was all our favourite songs). We went home at half past six, when all beer but three bottles was gone. Waking up at noon with a terrible hangover was a bit of a disappointment, however, we had everything we could wish for, no disasters, no fights no nothing. I had two outfits. One wedding gown for the ceremony, lunch and a photo shoot and a white dress for the party. Only one pair of shoes though(they were brand new and well, dancing in the garden all night took its toll).
We did use some of the wedding gifts to buy a new refrigerator (funny story, when we brought it up to the third floor and after unwrapping it we found out it was completely broken on the inside, and then the delivery guys had to bring it back down and then it took like two weeks to solve the issue but now it's here, beautiful and working)and a new computer. We wanted to wait longer but sadly our pc broke down three weeks ago and it is a bit difficult solve things like internet banking on a tablet.
Right now I have several jobs, am still at school and trying to figure my life out. I've lost like 15cm on my waist before the wedding so I'm trying not to gain any weight any time soon. I stil sew and read a lot, but more bout my life later. Now I'm off to the museum (work again...)

What I've been up to
Lately I've been so into my Social Studies finals! Ok, truth is I was not studying as much as I'd like to, as I was working quite a lot. You can say that being a guide at a museum is no real hard work and sometimes you'd be right - there are days that are full of reading, gossipping and coffee-drinking and then there are days when I manage to have a ten-minute lunch at two p.m. (which I luckily bought in the morning and just heated it in the microwave), run up those horrid stone stairs like 40 times and then just crawl out of the door in the end. Anyway, I love doing it. I love English-speaking groups, which none of my colleagues want, because I keep in touch with the language and some of these are really fun to guide.
Some time ago I mentioned trying to buy more local products and less prefabricates. I continue to do that, plus I've been more careful with my money. Not that I spend too much money on things I don't need. It's just that I'm not able to save anything. The more I earn, the more I spend and at the end of the month there's nothing! And I'd love to save some money for bigger stuff, like a nice set of kitchen knifes. So I started writing shopping lists and sticking with it. I stopped buying clothes every time I feel like it. I try to plan the meals in advance - it had happened to me several times that right after bringing home groceries for a month I had no idea what I'm about to cook! I'm making some progress and I hope I'm gonna be a real housewife!
Back to the local products - not only that I keep getting meat from the butcher and fish from the fishery, I also decided to help myself to some home-made stuff. In the following weeks I'm making a elderberry syrup (I done that two years ago - delicious!), also I plan to get some fruits from the market in the summer and make my own apricot jam and later, pickled cucumbers and cheese. But this week I was devoted to making the best pate ever! Ok, maybe not but definitely one that has great taste and there are no artificial thingies. My first attempt turned out pretty good - I "only" made a kilogramme of it, gave a quarter of it as a sample to my parents - and now it seems like I'll be making more for my entire family soon enough, as they managed to eat their sample the very first day and I have only one more glass left. I call it a success!
Do you have any more ideas about what should I try to make at home? I'm thinking of making these but my cats might not enjoy it as much as I would...

Anna's little helpers
I must say that sometimes when writing an outfit post, I get kind of lost in the translation. I mean, there are so many kinds of shoes and necklines and sleeves and bags! We don't use that many names for these! But, luckily, I'm not the only one having trouble recognising difference between stuff... So it is quite easy to find out a list with pictures attached so I won't be lost but a bit confused instead. So let's have a look at those I use the most.
First the shoes, necklines, sleeves and pants. Quite easy to deal with.

So I hope these have been helpful and I hope you like seeing all these in one place. I do, I won't have to google it every time I feel confused. Next time I might talk about having troubles with colours and their names. By the way, did you see blue and black or white and gold dress?

Feeling dizzy already? Now the tricky part. Dress and bags. See, the bags names are not the same all the time. For example the Satchel bag. Or the bucket bag: I just don't get it, why are they named differently in each list? Nevermind, I found two lists with nice pictures. Dresses have similar problem, different naming and no list has all types. So again, two pictures needed. None of them has mermaid dress however, but I believe that there was enough of mermaid dresses, they are everywhere in the rentals, at the proms and balls and they are not flattering at all! I mean you need to have a perfect figure to look good in these and I'd ban them, but that is none of my business. Wear what you want.

Brandnooz box opening: March 2015
So on Friday we got yet another box with goodies! Again, none of the items is "brand new" as advertised, all the stuff is already available in shops. That doesn't mean it's not worth it though. For example last month we got this mint syrup, local and bio and all the other fashion words written on the label, and the lemonade from it was really delicious. March box contained some magazines. In the one about living we got some ideas suitable for our apartment and some "must have" items, we can't afford. On the other hand, the women magazine was rather disappointing. See, I don't buy these, as they're stupid, but when I do, all I care about is clothes, sex and funny stories. This one had no funny story and very little about sex and clothes. Boring!
As for food, I really like the rapsberry jam. What I find interesting is the whip cream without lactose (sorcery!). Dijon mustard and mayonaise are the two things that have to be in every kitchen and sweets and salted crackers never last long in our home. What I don't like is the chips with chicken flavour, because I've tried it and it tastes weird. Also, Asterix fruit drink is not what I was looking forward to, as we have the 18+ subscription, I would expect to receive more alcoholic beverages, not just beer (which was in two out of four boxes). But it is still nice to get these little surprises every month... It's like getting presents.

Have a nice week!
So, after some exam time (more like fun time for me, as I managed passing most of my exams in January and then had some time off) it's school again and this semester is going to be really BIG! As a third year and heading for bachelors degree we only have a month and a half instead of three of regular classes. So we are not allowed to skip any lectures, most classes aretwice as longer as they used to. I also signed up for four P.E. classes. It's Bosu, Zumba, Aerobic and Poweryoga. Had two of them already today (I've been doing yoga for some time and it makes me feel really good and stretched and relaxed) and am pretty excited for Zumba on Thursday. Anyway, for those, whose school has started today (or who had to go to work or anything else more or less annoying happened to you today) there's a cat for you! It is fascinating how cats immediately finds out you've unboxed something and provided them with a new hideout/ place to sleep. No matter that the box is not exactly the right size, they are not picky like me, I have to return the shoes I bought tomorrow, as they are too big when worn without tights, I have to go for the smaller size - but cat's don't care about size.

A way to go Billa!
Some time ago the only good thing about Billa was the fact that it is usually in the very centre of a town, unlike many other supermarkets that keep their distance (at least in south Bohemia it is so), so you could get groceries without having to commute to the periphery. And that was basically it. The quality was not amusing, especially the vegetables, prices were often higher than in other stores and the choice is limited. But today I've noticed a nice thing (and pardon me, if it is nothing new, it certainly is here in the wild). Today I found some regional goods titled "Billa regionally (Billa regionálně)". Not just items that are from Czech Republic but these are directly from our district. And It seems nice. I immediately purchased oat-flake cocoa cookies and they were simply marvellous! And it is not just the taste itself! There is no white flour in the cookies. There are no eggs so the cookies do not mess with my new diet. The baking powder used is in bio quality. The packing was half paper, half plastic but these two were fully separable so each part can go to it's own sorting garbage container. And they are very local (meaning thirty kilometres away from where I bought them). I bought them as a snack for my way home from school and I had to keep my hands of it so there were at least some left for the photo!
CZ
A byly opravdu moc dobré!

Testing trophology
Lately I've been sick, had plenty of free time thus I decided to reorganize a few things in order to feel better. Firstly my closet. I did another closet cleaning based on my usual rules (if you haven't worn it for a year, sell it/throw it away) and am planning more of these quite often in order not to be flooded with clothes. Next on the list was the lifestyle. See, I've been having some digestion problems, I felt tired and bloated and just not well. And I remembered how great I felt when trying trophology (food combining) for the first time. So I came back to that. Today is my first day and I feel great. The good thing about food combining is not only the fact that you are thinking about what you eat but also not pressing on you body. You are serving yourself the meals that work together and are more or less easy to digest. I hope it will last for a while, as I usually get lazy after some time and start cheating. Well, I already did, but that was only because they do not count soy into regular legumes and I just love the tofu spreads on my wholegrain bread for breakfast (which is something you should not do, but I think it's better than having a pâté or salami or butter).
I have like four P.E. classes signed up for next semester (which is not because I wanted to work out but because I was missing some credits for my finals). And I need to do some work on my thesis, seriously!
Keep your fingers crossed as my finals from psychology and education are taking place tomorrow!

Sunday cuteness
I'm finally on the mend now, but I had to spend roughly two weeks in bed / on the couch just laying and sweating. The good thing is that you can watch movies, sleep, read and play games on the notebook. The not so good is that you get sick of it after a while. Spending all days alone can be tiring. This is when you truly appreciate the company of cats. Or dogs or other fluffy animals. It's not that I dragged them into my bed, that would not be very nice when I'm sick. But I didn't keep them from coming. And truth is, one of our cats, Spark is her name, spent whole days sleeping on my legs. And when I had to move her so I could make me some more tea, she decided to join the other one, Storm on the heating radiator. And aren't they just the cutest you've ever seen?

Get well box
So I'm sick. AGAIN. I caught a flu last week, I spent four days in bed, unable to move, then I had to go to school with fever to pass not one but two exams. On Friday I was finally getting better. Then Ales caught it from me. So I took care of him. The bad thing was he didn't have four days, he had two. And then had to go to work (damn you, system!). So I was sending him some energy so he could survive day at work (Yeah, I believe in energies and stuff). Well, I couldn't control the amounts, so the next day I was sick again! Ales is fine though. I've been sweating like a little pig for three more days, my bones hurt and it is just great. The good thing is my Brandnooz box just arrived! Some of you might not know what's that all about. Well, you subscribe to a box, pay 220 CZK a month (about 8,5$) and in the end of a month you receive a box with all kinds of goodies. Even though it cost me great amount of energy, unpacking the box really cheered me up. If you haven't opened your box yet, I recommend not to read any further...

Bike me!
I believe I've already mentioned how much I use my bicycle (this would be a place for the Queen's song, but I will do without it, it's such a cliche). Since I've been living with a cycling freak, I use my bike for commuting from spring to autumn, as much as possible. I am more of a short-distance biker, so I still do not travel to school on it (it's 60 km, and I can't make it under an hour as the train does), but I use it quite often. At the moment I own two bikes - one is super old admiral. My mum had it before me for like seven years and it's mine since 2006. It has been repaired, the tires changed, everything is nice and functional. And I like it. It is one heavy bastard and getting it out of the basement used to be nightmare, but it's a bike I can rely on. The other one is Author, it is more of a freestyle bike, it was meant for jumping and tricks. Ales uses it at the moment, as his own bike is in desolate state and we didn't manage to save the money to have it fixed yet. Anyway, I was thinking what kind of bike I would get if... I had unlimited budget and enough space to store them aaaand this is the top 3 (well, eight pictures in three categories) :

Animals I'm totally gonna have when I grow up
I am mostly a cat person but I love all kinds of animals. Truth is that every once in a while I fall in love with a certain animal and I just need to have it. But I am no longer a kid so I do not beg my parents to buy me a rabbit or so, I download pictures and look at the animal for as long as possible knowing that I both cannot afford to buy the animal and don't have time for taking care of it. But this is the list of animals I would totally get if I had unlimited budget and unlimited time.
1. Akita Inu
Ever since I've read book called"Dogs Have the Strangest Friends" ("Když se zvířata kamarádí") by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, I've wanted a bear. And a ginger kitten and a gorilla. And an elephant and hippo and eagle. But one of the most touching stories in this children's book (well, I have it - again, as one of my former friends stole it from me, and still cry when reading it) is the one about a dog waiting for his master every single day at a train station (there's a movie about it and the story is quite known, but I first read it in the book), the story of Hachiko. Later I looked up the breed and found out, that not only Akita's are very smart, well behaved and devoted dogs, but they also look like bigger foxes. So I came to a conclusion I must have one.

You're too old
So, to explain the whole story, I have to go back a little bit. Last year I got a scooter. Not this one:
First of all, that would be quite an expensive present. And I am a reasonable woman and I hate wasting money. Second of all, I am a big ecologist. And whenever I can, I use my bike, feet or, when necessary, public transport (especially trains for school). I don't fancy the idea of having two or more cars in a family, I mean why? Also, this baby would not fit into my bag, can't be packed and just carried in my hand or in a satchel on my back. And finally, I hate driving. I do have a drivers licence (which would apply for something like that too) but I really hate it. I am nervous and bad driver, I get tired and I can't watch the surroundings, which really bothers me. I know that one day I will have to drive, as I want a family and work and everything, but...!
No, I got a tiny scooter, big enough to be able to ride it and compact enough to be carried to school almost every day.
I've never had one. Scooter, I mean. When I was younger, I used to play with this girl from my class. She lived in a village nearby and she had two scooters and we used to ride across the village all the time. Until I got hurt. I wasn't used to riding a scooter and at that time, it was the one with really small wheels and metal plate and really heavy for a small thing like that. I was just trying to get off that thing and as I stepped on the ground, that thing spun and I got hit with the metal plate right above my heel. There was a lot of blood back then. I still have a scar. So naturally, I didn't want to ride a scooter for some time. But it seemed like a great idea having one now. So my boyfriend got it for me. I am 23 years old and I got a scooter. Perfect! And it really makes a difference. See, my classes end at quarter to something (all the time) and my train leaves at 3 minutes to that something (every hour, I know, but I don't like waiting). Anyway, the way from school to train station takes at least 10 minutes of fast walk. With a scooter? 5 minutes tops. And I get time to buy a coffee at the station! I'm a hell of a biker!
Ok, now I'm getting to the point. Last time I used it, I rode past this guy, who yelled at me something like "Ain't you too old for that?!" (Original: "Nejste na to nějak stará?")
First, I hate "yellers". The type of people who feel the urge to scream at random people in public, event if it is none of their business. On the other hand I get that look "you are too old for that" when riding my scooter all the time. Mostly from younger girls. I think it's just envy. So I don't give a damn. Why should I? I know what they don't: that it is fast, cheap and also the most awesome feeling to ride that beauty.
You know, if you feel good when doing anything, you shouldn't be bothered whether you are too old for it. I mean, I also like swings. And I use them often. And no one yells at me. Because there are almost no children in the playground these days. So it is up to us, the "old" ones to keep these swinging...:)
And by the way, last time I was buying a bottle of wine to have a nice and cosy evening with my husband-to-be, I was asked for an ID, as I obviously look like a teenager (YES!).

Zebra crossing culture
I have a confession to make: I hate driving. I do have a driver's licence for over five years now, but since then I've driven a car...wait for it...approx. four times. I am just not driving material. I realize that someday with job to go to and kids to pick up from school I might need to re-learn how to drive. But until then I appreciate other means of transport. Trains and buses for longer distances, bike and walking for shorter ones. As a walking- person I do have several remarks to you, the other occupants of sidewalks and participants of feet-commuting (and some of them reffer to drivers, bikers, dog-walkers etc.). By writing this I want to start a revolution of walking, I want to bring some organization and culture to walking. Just so it wasn't such a pain in the ass walking through the town, you know.

My love, my everything, my...broken!
First let me assure you, this is not a break up, really. Nothing is wrong about that matter. But! If you've seen my post about Christmas presents, you must have seen that I got a sewing machine. I was testing it after Christmas and later there was no time for it, until Monday. I was studying for my economy test and needed a break, so I decided to practise on my beauty. It worked just fine, until I decided to change the thread. The threading the needle itself worked just fine, but then the machines did a "pffft" sound and the needle suddenly stopped moving! The engine runs and everything, when I put the thingy in the position for winding the bobbin spindle, it works and winds the thread upon the spindle, but the sewing itself does not work! I was desperate and cried, like A LOT. I haven't learnt anything else that evening. Which might cause my expulsion from school.
The worst part was yet to come. Yesterday we've looked everywhere only to find out that the receipt was nowhere to be found! And you can't claim the warranty and ask for free repair or replacement! Which makes me feel like an idiot, for several reasons.
First, I bought (well, my grandpa paid for it but it was me, technically) a machine which I knew would not be perfect, but it was the only new one I could buy with my budget. Mistake it was!
Second, I somehow lost or threw away the receipt! I always keep them. All of them are in a paper box in my closet! Even those I don't need anymore or I never needed, but somehow, the only receipt I've ever needed in my life to return the item properly, is also the only one I cannot find! So you see, I am not in the best mood now, as I might get expelled and, I might not see a sewing machine again, as I can't afford a new one, can't return this one and who knows if this one can be repaired. And even if it can, what if the cost of the repair would exceed the actual price?
EDIT: Those few unlucky days are gone now. Today (8th January) I took the sewing machine to the repair guy in our town - it took like ten minutes and I was allowed to take it back home, fully functional. And as for the economy test, I passed it. Which means I owe my friend a beer, but I don't care about that :) And I made a deal with God (well, more with myself) that if I pass, I will work on my bachelor thesis all Saturday, so be it.

Best of Christmas presents (and the last echo of holidays)
I promised, that I will show you some of the presents I/we got for Christmas. But honestly, there were so many of them! This year my parents took us to Ikea to get what we needed in our apartment (there was a budget we had to meet, we used about half of it). So we supplied our kitchen with more teacups, glasses, glass bowls... Then there was new living room lamp, wine rack, wide wooden chopping board, decorative candles, classic Ikea umbrellas and the best part - bed sheets! I bought navy blue and beige fitted sheet (140x200 cm, our bet is 160 x 200 cm, but last time I bought the right size, it was too big for the mattress) and those beautiful white sheets with petite blue leaves (on the right)!

Christmas in a minute
Since the 21st, I was trying to post something to this blog. I have like three separate articles under construction but there was literally no time for that. So, I know I'm late but I wish you all merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Anyway, here you can read about my underground music experience, this is my version of spinach quiche with baked tomatoes recipe, then there's a report of my family Christmas and an outfit with my new boho dress my sisters got me for Christmas.

Christmas in da house
My mum loves big families. She was happy to accept my boyfriend to our family circle and even happier for we celebrate with them every year (as Ales's family does not celebrate Christmas for personal and religious reasons). The holiday has the same schedule every year.

Underground lair
This last week was insane, I tell you! I finished my Econ paper (8 pages), handed in part of my bachelor work (10 pages), managed to clean the flat, bake all the necessary... And then had a nice weekend, full of cleaning but also culture. Sunday was the day of the Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It was pretty good. I must say I really donť like the side plot with a lovestory between a dwarf and an elf, I think the elf girl has really stupid and cheesy lines, but despite that it was a good movie and I cried like a little girl. The best thing about Hobbit in our cinema was, that it started at half past five so there was still plenty of time afterwards. And we were hoping to see my friend's concert. He's a folk singer and songwriter, and his lyrics are just perfect. The concert was in an old mill that served as a community centre. It is not in a very good state but some rooms are fully functional. I wasn't sure about local supply of beverages so I warned Aleš that there might not be anything to drink. False alarm. The concert was in a room that looked like somebody's living room, bottles of beer were sold and it all looked like... Well I don't know, but the atmosphere and location looked the way I imagine the underground concerts. I mean, back in the communist regime in Czech Republic, most music was strictly controlled so all the "cool" kids who wanted to hear something out of mainstream, had to meet in secret, sometimes in barns or some old places, were often caught by police and stuff. I was born after this era ended (luckily!) but this concert made me think of it. Anyway, the first band (well second, but we didn't hear that one) was called "Kopec šišek", a Prague death-folk duo, that sometimes performs under different names. Then it was time for our friend to show up. The music was sloppy and in the end his guitar was terribly out of tune, but still it was great. Here are some photos.

Good morning!
I am really satisfied with my schedule this semester. I never get up earlier then 7 a.m. (that is good, trust me, 5 a.m. is terrible and there are people getting up sooner) - it means that sometimes I have my coffee in the train but nevermind that, had a good night sleep. I have school only four days a week and only one full day, so I can do some other work and still have some free time. But in winter as the nights are getting longer, I wake up ad it is still dark outside. I know, I can see many beautiful sunsets...
But I leave home in the dark and come home when it's dark again so I don't enjoy the day and I¨m always tired. That is why it's so comforting to have one day off at weekend (trust me, I haven't had one in months and I don't even count schoolwork), get up at half past eight (the sun's up already and I am not the type that could sleep all morning, the day is too short for that) and have a nice cup of tea with your design tea mug and design tea infuser...

The mug was a present from my boyfriend and my mum brought the teabot from her trip to Prague. The good thing about the mug is that you put the lid on and your beverage won't spill. Or you can have it on the side and put cookies in it. Or a teabot. As for the infuser, it's arms are adjustable, so it fits all kinds and shapes of mugs. Both items are just lovely and easy to be found in online shops. and they fit together just fine. And I love them!
